Who the apartment suits

It sleeps four across two bedrooms with fitted wardrobes, so it works for two couples as well as for a family. It is one of the highest rated homes we let, and the difference shows in the building's facilities, not only in the view.

Inside the apartment

The living space is open plan and lit by floor to ceiling windows, flowing into the dining area. The kitchen has high end appliances: fridge with freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and blender, with cookware and wine glasses. The balcony over the Arabian Gulf has room to sit out.

The bathrooms are stocked with hotel linens, towels and toiletries, and there is a bathtub, which is rare across our rentals. The apartment includes a washing machine, a drying rack, an iron, a safe, a smart TV, Wi-Fi above 250 Mbps, a private jacuzzi and beach essentials. Families travelling with a baby can ask for a crib. Entry is by smart lock, so nobody waits around for a key handover.

Ellington Beach House residence facilities

Ellington Beach House is a boutique waterfront residence and its shared facilities read more like a resort than an apartment block: a private beach for residents only, an infinity edge pool, a full gym, a yoga and wellness studio, a sauna and steam rooms, beachfront loungers and cabanas, an outdoor grill, a fire pit, and round the clock security with a concierge. A dedicated parking space is included.

Location: Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is Dubai's best known address, and staying on the west crescent means the sea is at hand while the main thoroughfare stays at a distance. Nakheel Mall, with its shops and restaurants, is a few minutes by car, as are The Pointe promenade and the Atlantis resort. The Marina and Burj Al Arab are a quarter of an hour away. Island downtime and day trips

Anyone coming here purely to unwind need never leave the island: beach, pool, wellness and restaurants are all within walking distance. It works just as well as a base for trips, with old Dubai and the souks around half an hour away, and we can advise on a desert safari or a full day at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

House rules

Arrival from 3 pm, departure by 11 am. Smoking indoors is not allowed and pets are not permitted. The residence is a quiet one, so celebrations are not held here and quiet hours run from 10 pm to 8 am.
